The answer to last week's nature challenge was Indian Pipe. This plant is a wildflower!
Unlike most plants, it does not do photosynthesis. Plants that do photosynthesis have chlorophyll and chlorophyll is green but this plant is white. So how does it get it’s nutrients? Through a parasitic relationship with a fungus called mycorrhizal fungi that grows underground in relationships with trees.
