What is this growing in the woods?
What is this? What kingdom does it belong to (plant, animal, fungus, bacteria)? Can you find one in the woods?
Tune in on Friday anytime between 9:00am and 10:30am to find out the answer and to talk about this week's program and activities. See you then!

The answer to last week's nature challenge was a rust fungus, Pucciniastrum goeppertianum. This fungus spends half of it’s life cycle on blueberry plants and half of its life cycle on fir trees. Clusters of small branches will form on the plant and will have spongy bark. If your blueberry bushes develop this fungus, it is best to remove them. To prevent this fungus, avoid planting blueberry bushes near fir trees.
